Geographically, Viscri is a village belonging to Bunești commune. The village was first mentioned in the 12th century. Initially the Székelys were brought to these lands precisely to keep watch over the eastern border of the kingdom. The name of the locality is of Hungarian origin and comes from the famous place of worship made of white-green limestone.

Over time the Székelys moved to Covasna, and the village was settled by Saxon peasants.
