Cookie policy

Which cookies and similar technologies LocalTravel uses, for what purpose and how you change your choice.

  • By default we use only the cookies necessary for the operation and security of the site.
  • Statistics cookies (Google Analytics) and marketing cookies (Google Ads, Meta, TikTok) are activated only if you accept them.
  • You may change your choice at any time, from “Cookie settings” in the site footer or from the cookie button in the bottom-left corner.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a site saves in your browser, so that it can remember information between pages or between visits. Some disappear when you close the browser (session cookies), others remain for a set period (persistent cookies).

We also use similar technologies: the browser’s local storage (localStorage), where we keep, for example, your cookie choice, and tags (pixels) of statistics and advertising providers. In this policy we call them all “cookies”.

First-party cookies are set by LocalTravel. Third-party cookies are set by other providers, for example Google, Meta or TikTok, which may also use them on other sites, according to their own policies.

2. The categories we use

Necessary
without them, the forms and the security of the site do not work. They are always active and do not require consent (Art. 4(5) of Legea nr. 506/2004).
Preferences
would remember choices such as search filters. We do not currently use such cookies; if we add them, they will be activated only with your consent.
Statistics
show us, in aggregate, which pages are visited and how the site works. Only with your consent.
Marketing
measure campaigns and enable relevant advertisements on other platforms (Google, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok). Only with your consent.

The names and durations of third-party cookies are set by the providers and may change. We check them periodically and update the list. Providers’ policies: Google, Meta, TikTok.

4. Services without cookies that receive technical data

  • Google Tag Manager loads statistics and marketing tags only according to your choice and does not set cookies. We use Google Consent Mode: until you give consent, Google tags operate without cookies and without identifiers and may send only anonymous technical signals, for example that a visit took place.
  • Maps on city and area pages are from OpenFreeMap. The browser downloads map images from their servers, which receive the IP address. No cookies are used.
  • Google Maps loads on an accommodation page only when you press to see nearby restaurants and attractions. Then Google receives the IP address and technical data about the browser.
  • WhatsApp: wa.me links open the application for you. The site does not load anything from WhatsApp until you click them.

5. How you change your choice

Use the “Cookie settings” button in the site footer, the cookie button in the bottom-left corner or the button above. You may withdraw consent at any time. After withdrawal, we no longer activate optional cookies, and those already saved you may delete from the browser.

From the browser you may block or delete cookies. Blocking necessary ones may prevent the forms from working.

For personalised advertisements you may also use My Ad Centre Google and youronlinechoices.com.

6. Changes

We update this policy when we change the services used on the site. The date of the last update appears at the top. If we add new optional cookies, we ask for your consent again.
