How to get to Pensiunea Alegria in Moieciu de Sus
From Brașov, take the DN73 towards Bran and Moieciu, then follow the road up the Bângăleasa Valley to number 129. Because the guesthouse is at the far end of the valley, we recommend putting the exact address into Waze or Google Maps before you set off.

Amenities at the guesthouse
Breakfast, buffet or continental, is included in the rate for two people per room; for extra guests, the details are agreed when you book. After a day in the mountains, you can unwind in one of two places. The first is the living room, with a fireplace, leather sofas and a live-edge wooden table, good for a quiet evening by the fire. The second is the courtyard, with a garden, a terrace, gazebos and small barbecue huts beside the river. Out here there’s also a hot tub with jets and views over the valley, and a wooden barrel sauna.
Guests also have use of a shared kitchen, a café, a table tennis table and free Wi-Fi.
Hiking trails and sights nearby
Ten marked trails start near the guesthouse, so you don’t need a car to go hiking. Two of them climb from the Bângăleasa Valley into the Bucegi Mountains. The trail to the Șaua Strunga saddle and Cabana Padina, marked with a red cross, is 12.8 km long with 940 m of ascent, and takes 4 hours to 4 hours 45 minutes. The trail to the Șaua Bătrâna saddle and Hotel Peștera, marked with a red triangle, is more demanding: 14.1 km with 1,280 m of ascent. It takes an estimated 6 hours 30 minutes to 7 hours 15 minutes, and isn’t recommended in winter.
For more relaxed days, there are a few sights just a few kilometres away. The La Chișătoare waterfall, 2.8 km away, is a protected bio-geological reserve where streams of water drop 15–20 m down a moss-covered rock face. You can see the waterfall right from the roadside, and in winter it turns into columns of ice. About 5 km away, at Cheile Grădiștei, there’s an adventure park with zip lines and courses for adults and for children aged 6 and over. Bran Castle is 12 km away, a good option for a rainy day, and in winter the ski slopes at Fundata and Bran are a few minutes’ drive away.
